A Decade Of Gore! It's been 10 years already. URBAN FLESH was shot in 1997. It took two full years to complete and deliver the original version of the film. In November 1999, a group of unknown filmmakers from Montreal organized the premiere of one of the dirtiest gorefest ever made. Of course, the movie shocked the unprepared audience and slowly started it's way to become one of the most talked about underground S.O.V. ever produced. Within a year, URBAN FLESH was officially banned from it's own country; Canada. It was declared pervert and obscene. The film also couldn't make it through the British and German censors. In Deutschland, the movie was listed along with Cannibal Holocaust and Texas Chainsaw Massacre as INDIZIERT. Poorly shot on cheap video, badly acted and suffering from an uneven editing, the movie was still appreciated by the horror crowd all around the world. Many gorehounds consider it as one of the best cannibal movie ever made and one of the best horror film ever shot in Canada. Without help from any government and without any official distributor, URBAN FLESH sold more than 900 copies to this day. URBAN FLESH was featured in dozens of magazines including Fangoria, Rue Morgue, Cult Cuts and Cult Movies. In 2007, Sub-Rosa Studios will release the first ever URBAN FLESH DVD! CELEBRATE
